DoTA vs Guild Wars
Well, playing this game reminds me of DoTA of Warcraft 3. What do you guys reckon?? Any opinion?? (I don't know where to place this topic so i decided to place it here instead. )

Hahahahhhha and how in the world does it remind you of DotA?
I see no semblance at all.

I dunno... the closest thing to DoTA I can think of is the Undead Hordes quest. Bad memories *gets eaten by a bone dragon*

Eh are we talking about the same DotA?
As in the overpowered naix and jahrakal DotA?

o.o I dunno. I only played the old first version of it.
It's the map that the TFT mission with Illidan in the cage is modeled after, right? >_> The one where you have to get his cage to roll to your base..
I dunno <-- getting my mileage off that phrase

Hmmm I don't think we're talking the same DotA then
There were no cages in the one I played.
Two sides: Scourge vs Sentinel.
The objective was to destroy each other's thrones.
I started at version 5.84 and ended at 6.09.
I don't know whats it up to now.

yeah i also refer to the Scourge vs Sentinel DoTA. What is that referring to 'eaten up by bone dragon' ???? Anyway, after all, DoTA is also about PvP isn't it?? except for DoTA you can level up from level 1 to 25 less than an hour. =)

I don't see why this game would end up in flames...
I've never PvP'ed in Guild Wars before so I don't know about that part.
DotA = 6 items you can carry anything you like.
Guild Wars = 2 items
DotA = 4 skills
Guild Wars = 8 skills
Thats the only thing remotely similar I can think of
Edit:
Night Stalker as in Balanar?
Underpowered?
With the right items, he's definitely a force to be reckoned with.
The only 2 heroes that are overpowered in DotA are Naix and Jahrakal.
But they're late game heroes.
I think DotA is pretty balanced.
Intel = early to mid game heroes.
Agility = mid to end game heroes.
Strength = mid to end game heroes.
The only underpowered hero I can think of is Broodmother or KotL.
But they push damn fast.
Every hero has its uses.

Sven is among the overpowered.
But a Jahrakal or Naix who is fed well would easily kill a well-fed Sven.
BKB = GG Storm Bolt
Jahrakal perma-bash for the win.
Naix can also do a semi-perma-bash.
nimloth32, any chance you're from Malaysia?
Edit:
Nah I don't take offense.
Its quite hard to offend me, especially online.
Here are my reasons:
First, I don't think I'm experienced enough. I haven't even completed the game once yet. Not that I can't, I just don't want to at the moment. I've never even attempted the Ring of Fire mission yet.
Second, I'm not experienced enough. I've only played with a W/Mo, and a N/Me (both are up to Ring of Fire). Before I completed with my W/Mo, I started with my N/Me. And now before I complete the game with either, I started on my third, a Mo/E.
Third, I'm not experienced enough. I haven't played enough professions to know what others can do. Due to character-slot restrictions, I can only have these 3 (with one more for PvP), so I tried to play 3 characters who are as different as possible.
So, until I complete the game with these 3 characters, I won't start PvP'ing. I don't like to die and then ask "what the hell hit me?". I've done enough of that during my introduction to DotA.

Yeah...I'll take one shot at who's gonna come and close this thread - Savio.
Hahahahaahhahahhaha
Okok back to topic to stop it from getting closed.
Where do you play DotA?
I used to play at Netmaster in DJ, near KDU.
Once in a while I'd take the 10-hour package from E-Zone at Mid Valley.

i played DoTA at warnet klang. Last year, i used to go to inferno, globalnet and warnet subang to play DoTA. I played at warnet klang more often now. However, i considered myself retired due to boredom after spending a fortune. Since Guild Wars is cheap and available over 56k connection, i choose to play Guild Wars and i know i am making a good choices. =)
